The educational activities carried out within the scope of the EcosySTEM – Empowering Children for Environmental Sustainability through E-STEM project are continuing at full speed. To date, 275 children have participated in E-STEM training sessions at our center.

We have now reached an important milestone.

A total of 54 students from Kadıköy Alev Alatlı Science and Art Center (BİLSEM) (ages 8–12) and FMV Işık Schools (ages 14–15) have successfully graduated and received their certificates.

These students completed all modules in full. They received hands-on training in Biodiversity, Water, Air, Soil, Renewable Energy, and Waste Management, and developed the ability to approach environmental challenges with a scientific mindset.

In addition, these students are preparing for the Design Thinking (DT) process. At the end of this phase, they will design and develop environment-focused projects and will have the opportunity to present their work on visible platforms. Seeing our graduates’ potential to produce sustainable and innovative solutions for society is extremely exciting for us.

New School Participations and Growing Interest

Interest in our training center continues to grow steadily.

A total of 8 classes (4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades) from Anakent College and 8 classes (3A, 3B, 4A, 4B) from Nihat Işık Primary School have officially registered for the program.

In addition, students from Private Sezin Schools visited our center, and a project introduction was delivered for high school students aged 15.

Furthermore, Irmak Schools Caddebostan Campus was visited, where a project presentation was delivered to teachers and potential collaboration opportunities were discussed.

To date, six schools have been visited and 15 presentations have been conducted.

Institutional and Local Partnerships

In addition to school visits, six official institutions and local authorities were visited to strengthen project visibility and local cooperation: Kadıköy Municipality

Kadıköy District Directorate of National Education Kadıköy District Governor’s Office Rasimpaşa Neighborhood Headman’s Office Kadıköy Design Workshop Kadıköy Children’s Council

During these visits, comprehensive presentations were delivered using projection systems. Promotional materials such as brochures, catalogs, notebooks, pens, and posters were also distributed and left at the respective institutions. These efforts have significantly increased institutional ownership and community-level visibility.

Institutional and Local Partnerships

During this period, all partners established their centers and translated and adapted the six E-STEM modules into their local languages. Pilot trainings were carried out in Türkiye and Ukraine, while Bulgaria launched limited pilot activities. Greece completed center preparations, translation and trainer capacity building. With the direct participation of children, these activities clearly demonstrated that the project is advancing strongly towards its objectives.

To enhance the sustainability of our training center, promotional and dissemination activities will continue without slowing down.

School visits, teacher information meetings, student introduction days, and new-term registration planning will intensify in the coming weeks. Our goal is clear.

To reach more children. To involve more teachers in the process. To disseminate environmental awareness through an experiential, scientific, and creative model. EcosySTEM is not just an educational program. It is a comprehensive transformation model that nurtures the environmental leaders of the future. Stay tuned for new registrations and further updates.
