In the third reporting period of the EcosySTEM project, partner countries achieved concrete progress!

Türkiye introduced the six E-STEM modules to 38 participants through the Capacity Building Training held in Istanbul. At the newly established E-STEM Education Center in Kadıköy, pilot trainings were conducted with 15 children. The trainings featured aquaponic systems, composting, vertical farming and renewable energy applications. In addition, the English master versions of the six modules were completed and the process of translation and adaptation into Turkish was launched. The project was presented to a wide audience at the Kadıköy Environment Festival and strong collaborations were developed with local institutions.

Ukraine completed its center with laboratories, a seminar hall, plant beds, aquaponic systems and renewable energy equipment. All modules were translated into the local language and applied with adapted materials. Out of 388 applications, 105 children were selected to participate in a six-day training program. Children experienced all modules through laboratory work, field visits, renewable energy demonstrations and DIY kits. Parents were regularly informed via Telegram, while visibility was strengthened through engagement with local authorities and NGOs.

Greece equipped its center with smart irrigation and rainwater harvesting systems and prepared its trainers. The translation of the training modules into Greek was launched and the adaptation process completed. Four trainers participated in the Capacity Building Training in Istanbul, strengthening their knowledge and skills. With these preparations, a solid foundation was established for trainings to begin in the next period.

Bulgaria equipped its center with plant beds, renewable energy systems (solar bench, wind sets, hydrogen fuel cell kits), aquaponics and composting units. The modules were translated into Bulgarian and adapted to local conditions. Cooperation was established with five schools to select students. In pilot sessions, children conducted biodiversity observations, water and air quality measurements and explored renewable energy applications.
Overall Assessment
During this period, all partners established their centers and translated and adapted the six E-STEM modules into their local languages. Pilot trainings were carried out in Türkiye and Ukraine, while Bulgaria launched limited pilot activities. Greece completed center preparations, translation and trainer capacity building. With the direct participation of children, these activities clearly demonstrated that the project is advancing strongly towards its objectives.
🌍 EcosySTEM is moving full speed ahead! Now it’s time to move forward even stronger!
