E-STEM Environment and Science Festival in Bulgaria

As part of the Empowering Children for Environmental Sustainability through E-STEM – ecosySTEM project, our project partner, the Institute of Oceanology – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IO-BAS), organised the National E-STEM Environment and Science Festival in Bulgaria.

During the festival, children presented their environmental ideas and interactive prototypes developed through Design Thinking and E-STEM activities. Innovative bird feeder designs incorporating sensors, automation, and eco-friendly materials were among the projects showcased at the event. The festival programme also included a waterside clean-up activity, where children and participants took direct action to protect the local environment, putting environmental awareness into practice.

At the end of the festival, three winning teams were selected to represent Bulgaria at the ecosySTEM International Environment and Science Festival in Greece.
